The Energy Saver high voltage lamps has been newly developed. The basis for this is an optimized coil design, and the Xenon technology. In the low voltage lamps Osram relies on the proven IRC technology based on the principle of heat recovery. By a special coating on the lamp piston (Infra Red Coating) the warmth radiated from the filament is guided back again and remains thereby in the lamp. Thus, less energy must be supplied from outside to bring the coil to operating temperature.
