In the domes of conventional tweeters, given the need for attenuate the resonance peaks on the high frequencies, comes introduced fluid material to increase its mass. So doing, however, results in a worsening of the time transient response. The specially designed AMT tweeter designed for the R series of Presonus, instead, uses a incredibly thin membrane (less than 0.01mm) coated in Kapton, with a built-in aluminum circuit which acts as a reel. In this way the tweeter moves instantaneously to the passage of current and, thanks to this responsiveness, the resulting response time guarantees high transparency and superior quality in reproduction of transients. The diaphragm of an AMT tweeter guarantees a diffusion area of ​​8 to 13 times larger compared to a classic 1-inch dome tweeter, allowing the R series to achieve a very stereo panorama wider than a traditional system.
