Radial Engineering

The Radial StageBug SB-4 is an active compact direct box optimized for use with piezoelectric transducers. This allows violin, dobro, mandolin, cello, double bass and other instruments to be amplified better, using a piezo that does not compromise the sound or the response in frequency. Design begins with a 1/4 "input jack for the instrument pickup. Unlike normal direct boxes that have an input impedance of 1MOhm, the SB-4 has a very high impedance of 10 Mega Ohms per smooth those annoying peaks that give piezo one bad reputation. The upper impedance also extends the frequency response for a more natural and pleasant sound. the active circuit performs the conversion from high to low impedance and balance the signal to use long cables up to 100 meters without losses, offering spectacular linearity and low distortion over the entire audio range.
