This multi-channel digital audio interface (in English MADI - Multichannel Audio Digital Interface) offers the total conversion from MADI format to ADAT format and vice versa. The MADI protocol, defined by the AES, allows to manage up 64 24-bit channels at a frequency of 48kHz or alternatively 32 channels at 24 bits and 96kHz. Data transmission takes place on a single coaxial cable with BNC or fiber connectors optical (optional). In both cases the cables can reach up to 100 meters (and more) in length. Channels MADI are transferred in two directions through eight inputs and eight ADAT optical outputs via TOSLINK, moreover the ADI-648 interface also integrates a matrix router easy 8-channel 16x16 configuration called Matrix Router, through which it is possible to manage freely assignment with blocks of 8 channels in input and in Exit.
