A nice sturdy chest pad usually offers a nice sound powerful. Sometimes it's exactly what you want, but yours family or your neighbors may not feel the same way. The KD-10 kick pad absorbs much of the noise thanks to the rubber cover combined with a dedicated padding, but it keeps that "thud" sound of the battery when a swing strikes the skin of a bass drum, so it is ideal to play at home where loud noise could cause problems.
