Description

The Royer R-121 is a modern ribbon microphone that exhibits a flat frequency response and a balanced, panoramic sound field. With a sound pressure level of 135 dB SPL @ 30, the R-121 can be used for applications that classic ribbon cannot handle. This is due to recent advancements in magnetics, materials and mechanical construction techniques, and its figure-8 pattern make it ideal for room micing orchestral and choral recordings. The R-121 is also widely used on electric guitars. The R-121’s ribbon element is constructed of low mass, 2.5-micron, pure (99.99 per cent) aluminium. This unique patented offset-ribbon transducer assembly positions the ribbon element towards the front of the microphone body, which allows for higher SPL handling on the front (logo) side and the option of a brighter response when recording lower SPL sound sources on the back side (3 feet and closer; phase reversed in this position). • Figure-8 polar pattern • Frequency response: 30 – 15,000 Hz ±3 dB • Max SPL: 135 dB @ 30 Hz • 48-...
