The VPL-GT100 is Sony 's Compact Commercial Projector delivering true 4K resolution with SXRD technology. The GT-100's heart is comprised of three 0.74" SXRD imaging chips offering 4K resolution each and its extra-large ED glass projection lens. The GT-100 delivers 8.8 megapixels, or four times the resolution of 1080p HD. In practical terms this means a cinematic image on par with 35mm film. The image is crisp, bright, and smooth, and pixels are not discernible even when standing directly in front of the screen. You don't need to sit farther away from the projection surface to see a smooth picture; conveniently sit at a distance 1.5 times the screen's height, known as "immersive viewing".
