When recording acoustic or vocal instruments, using a microphone is inevitable. The output level actual of a microphone is very low and must therefore be incremented by study or line level (0 dB) with a preamplifier. Sometimes the signals must be increased by a factor of 2000 or more. Consequently, the sound quality provided by the pre is fundamental importance.
