Description
This plant is known by several common names: Ismene, Spider Lily, and Peruvian Daffodil, and its botanical name is Hymenocallis Sulphur Queen. It is native to the Americas, and the flower resembles a daffodil blooming in the summer. The long, strap-shaped leaves are quite showy in their own right. It is a good naturalizer and pest proof and attracts bees and butterflies. Ismene Sulphur Queen produces soft, yellow flowers with a striking green throat that looks spectacular in the evening garden. The flowers produce a citrus-like fragrance. Each stalk grows 2-3 large trumpet-shaped flowers.
