Switch devices on and off remotely by call or text without the need for expensive GSM remote control systems. The Velleman MK160 features a brightness sensor which switches a NO/NC relay when a sudden increase in brightness occurs. Placing the brightness sensor on the screen of a mobile phone means that when the phone is called or texted and the screen lights up, the relay will be switched. As the phone does not need to be answered by the module, this method of switching is entirely free. Combining this with our cheapest mobile phone, the Samsung E1080W, item no. 318202 (see this item's accessories), creates an incredibly cheap remote switching solution that can be used for any number of purposes.
