LINUX Server Reporting IBRIX Filesystem Size Descrepancy

LINUX server reporting IBRIX filesystem size
descrepancy
Solution ID: 91
Created: 1/8/2009
DETAILS:
Problem:
df -h reports inconsistent File System sizes between Segment Servers.
for example:
ibrixfs1 had a total physical size 80TB and in IBRIX the FS size would be 79TB.
In this example SS1 df -h reported ibrixfs1 as being 79TB but, df -h from SS2
reported the size as 119TB. SS2 was actually showing a size larger than what's
physically possible.
Note: More often than not when this reporting problem is seen we
typically see a -negative value for size.
Causes:
If IAD crashes [check for a iad core file in /usr/local/ibrix/init/ dir]
If IAD gets wedged/hung in kernel on a server
If Fusion server is wedged/hung in kernel on Fusion Manager as well
Synopsis:
IAD governs such Server synchronization for IBRIX which Linux df queries.
Such a size reporting discrepancy
Resolution
This could be resolved one of two ways depending on where iad or service is hung.
On your fusion manager run:
#/usr/local/ibrix/init/ibrix_fusionmanager restart
Wait a minute or so until everything starts up again on the Fusion Manager, then
if df -h on servers does not report correctly, restart iad on all the Segment
Servers with this command.
#/usr/local/ibrix/init/ibrix_iad restart
Wait 5 minutes and then retry the df -h from your servers to verify consistency is
restored.
