Upgrading to a dual-redundant controller configuration
Use the following steps to upgrade a single-controller configuration subsystem to
a dual-redundant configuration subsystem. To replace failed components, see the
Replacing BA370, M2100 & M2200 Enclosure Elements” chapter that starts on
page 101 for more information. Before beginning this procedure, obtain the
following items:
A second controller with the same software version and patch level as
installed in the current single-controller
A second cache module with the same memory configuration as installed in
the current cache module
A second ECB
For BA370 enclosures only, a second ECB Y-cable
Use the following steps to install a second controller, cache module and ECB:
Caution: For BA370 enclosures only:
After installing the controller, check the PVA SCSI ID number on the master
enclosure to ensure that it represents the correct enclosure number (ID 0).
If the SCSI ID number is not 0, reset it to ID 0 before starting the controller.

1. Connect a PC or terminal to the maintenance port of the operational
controller.
The controller connected to becomes “this controller,” and the controller
being added becomes the “other controller.”
2. Start FRUTIL with the following command:
RUN FRUTIL
3. Enter N(o) to question asking you whether you want to replace the battery.
4. Enter option 2.
5. Enter option 1.
