Matrix OE logical server management storage LUN format
It is critical to ensure that the storage LUN that is configured as part of the Logical Server Creation
Wizard be in VSA mode to avoid problems with HP-UX. Figure 4 illustrates where and how to set
the LUN.
Figure 4 Setting the LUN in VSA mode
The LUN number set in Create Storage Entry should be in VSA mode. For example, if the LUN
number is 2 then use 4002000000000000. Physical to physical moves will not work properly if
this format is not followed.
Configuring Integrity VM and HP-UX for cross-technology moves
For information about configuring Integrity VM and HP-UX for cross-technology moves, see
“Managed system hardware and firmware requirements and “Managed system software
requirements in the HP Insight Management 7.0 Support Matrix.
Operations and guidelines
This section defines the cross-technology logical server operations that are supported on Integrity
VM. In addition, guidelines are provided on the specific requirements that need to be adhered to
when executing a specific operation on Integrity VM.

NotesOperations
Integrity VM only allows creation of VMs with the following devices:Create
SAN storage pool entries.
NOTE: File storage pool entries are not supported when configuring Integrity VM
logical servers in a cross-technology logical server portability group (for example, a
portability group that includes both Integrity VM and a VC Domain Group).
Only File or SAN-based storage can be added to an Integrity VM logical server.
The logical server has to be deactivated to modify the resources. Below is a list of logical
server resources that can or cannot be edited.
