cctk_qig.book Page 3 Monday, July 25, 2011 3:00 PM Introduction Dell Client Configuration Toolkit (CCTK) is a packaged software offering that provides BIOS configuration capability to Dell business client platforms (OptiPlex, Latitude, and Precision). You can configure the client systems in two ways: using Graphical User Interface (GUI) or using Command Line Interface (CLI). This guide provides the installation instructions for CCTK. Prerequisites for Installing The prerequisites are given in Table 1-1.
cctk_qig.book Page 4 Monday, July 25, 2011 3:00 PM Accessing the CCTK Installer The CCTK installation file is available as a Dell Update Package (DUP) on the Dell support website at support.dell.com. To download the DUP: 1 Go to support.dell.com and navigate to the Drivers and Download page. 2 Select your client system. 3 Select the operating system and select Systems Management as the category.

The files are extracted to the location you specify. 5 Click View Folder to view the extracted files. The folder should contain the following files: – cctk.msi – mup.xml – package.xml – readme.txt – cctk_qig.pdf 6 Double click cctk.msi to launch the CCTK installshield wizard. 7 Run the InstallShield wizard. Windows PE provides a standalone pre-installation environment that is used to prepare a system for Windows installation. To create a Windows PE image, you can use Microsoft Windows Automated Installation Kit (Windows AIK). Using Windows PE 2.
cctk_qig.book Page 10 Monday, July 25, 2011 3:00 PM Integrating CCTK directory structure in a WIM file using Windows PE 2.0 CCTK provides the cctk_x86_winpe.bat and cctk_x86_64_winpe.bat scripts to integrate CCTK, HAPI, and related Dell drivers into the WIM file. To integrate the CCTK directory structure in a WIM file: 1 Navigate to the directory where the script is located. NOTE: By default, the script for 32-bit system is located in the cctk\X86 directory.
