Error Handling
When interpreting file-system errors, beware of subtle differ-
ences between the 5530 and the 5520. The following table
summarizes the meanings of various errors for the 5530.

21 ILLEGAL COUNT The specified byte count is
greater than the configured
record size.
100 DEVICE NOT READY The printer is not ready.
102 PAPER OUT An operator-correctable fault
has occurred (such as printer
out of paper, printer cover
open, end of ribbon).
104 NO RESPONSE Printer did not return
FROM DEVICE requested status. This might
indicate that the printer is
powered off, a hardware problem
exists, or the cable to the
printer is bad.
120 DATA PARITY Data parity error occurred,
ERROR which was not recoverable.
121 DATA OVERRUN 1. Buffer overflow occurred
while sending data to the
printer, or
2. Buffer full condition lasted
longer than the allowed
time.
