A Command Server must be installed on the computer upon which the IBM
WebSphere MQ messaging adapter is to be installed. It is not necessary that it be
installed in the same load library as the messaging adapter, but the JCL should
reference all relevant load libraries. These load libraries include the Language
Environment load library and the MQSeries load library if they are not installed in
the link-list by means of the appropriate JOBLIB or STEPLIB JCL statement.
IBM WebSphere MQ server system and configuration requirements include:
IBM WebSphere MQ server software version 2.2 is installed and configured.
One or more queue managers and queues must have been defined on the
system.
The access methods for the IBM WebSphere MQ adapter follow standard IBM
WebSphere MQ authentication guidelines and do not require any special
permissions to work with IBM WebSphere MQ. The adapter requires permission
to those IBM WebSphere MQ functions used in the Mercator WebSphere MQ
adapter. Although registering the user account as a member of the IBM
WebSphere MQ Group (MQM) would simplify the configuration (because of not
having to set individual user or group permissions), it is not a requirement.
Permissions can be set at the user account level to connect to, get messages
from, and put messages on queues. These minimal permissions are:
Connect,
Put, Get, Browse, and Inq. The Set permission is not required because the
Mercator maps do not alter queue managers or queues.
