1 Metrocluster with EMC SRDF version B.01.00.00 Release Notes Announcements HP Metrocluster with EMC (SRDF) Symmetrix Remote Data Facility for Linux is a High Availability (HA) HP product that integrates Metrocluster with EMC Symmetrix storage systems.
Features supported in B.01.00.00 version The following are the features supported in B.01.00.
Support for failover polices site_preferred and site_preferred_manual Metrocluster for Linux supports Serviceguard site_preferred and site_preferred_manual failover policies. These policies are supported for failover packages configured in a Metrocluster with sites defined in the Serviceguard cluster configuration file. For more information on these failover polices site_preferred and site_preferred _manual, see Metrocluster SRDF for Linux B.01.00.00 guide available at http://www.hp.
Hardware requirements EMC Symmetrix Hardware Requirements • The following Symmetrix series are supported with Metrocluster/SRDF: ◦ Symmetrix “6” (DMX Series) – 800 – 1000 – 2000 – 3000 ◦ Symmetrix “7” (DMX 3 and DMX 4) ◦ Symmetrix “VMAX” Series The two Symmetrix ICDAs connected by SRDF may be different models. For more information on compatibility between different levels of Enginuity, see SRDF Interfamily Connectivity Support document available at the EMC website.
For latest information on the supported OS versions, see Serviceguard Disaster Recovery Products Compatibility and Feature Matrix (Metrocluster with EMC SRDF) avaliable at www.hp.com/go/ linux-serviceguard-docs. EMC symmetrix software requirements • EMC Solutions Enabler versions 7610 or later. • RDF Enginuity Consistency Assist (RDF-ECA) feature of Solutions Enabler must be enabled to create Consistency groups. Installing Metrocluster/SRDF 1. Install the Metrocluster with SRDF for Linux B.01.00.
/opt/drenabler/utils 3. Install the Solution Enabler software on each node that has data residing on the EMC Symmetrix arrays. Compatibility issues There are no compatibility issues known at the time of the current release. Timing considerations Metrocluster/SRDF may increase package startup time by five minutes or more. Packages with many disk devices takes longer to start up than those with fewer devices. This is due to the time needed to get device status from the EMC disk array or to synchronize.
