Compatibility Information and Installation Requirements
In addition to the instructions provided below see the README provided with the
Oracle toolkit for more detailed installing and configuring instructions.
IMPORTANT: You cannot use the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit without the
Oracle product. The database server programs must be installed on your Linux system
before you install, configure, and test your database package.
Installing Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit
1. Before you start, use the following steps to remove any previous version of this
product:
To query the rpm database:
# rpm -qa |grep oracle-toolkit
If any part of the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit is installed, erase it using:
# rpm -e oracle-toolkit-<release>
2. To install the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit in the RedHat and SuSE
environments use the following commands:
In a RedHat environment to install the toolkit fileset, use the rpm command:
# rpm -i \ oracle-toolkit-A.03.01-0.product.redhat.noarch.rpm
The files will be installed in /usr/local/cmcluster/oracletoolkit
In a SLES environment to install the toolkit fileset, use the rpm command:
# rpm -i oracle-toolkit-A.03.01-0.product.suse.noarch.rpm
The files will be installed in /opt/cmcluster/oracletoolkit
The following files are part of the toolkit:
• README. Description of toolkit contents
• haoracle.sh. The main script of the toolkit
• haoracle.conf. Configuration file
• haoracle_sql.sh. The toolkit control script that starts and stops an Oracle
database
• haoracle.mon. The monitor script
• halistener.mon. The listener monitor script
• toolkit.sh. This script is the interface between the SG/LX package control
script and the Serviceguard for Linux Oracle Toolkit.
3. Create a directory for your package files called $SGCONF/<pkg_name>
