NetWare Client for DOS and MS Windows User Guide

Understanding Networking Basics
Network Users
When User ADMIN is created on the first NetWare 4 server installed, it can
manage all objects because it has the Supervisor right to every object.
Initially, ADMIN can also manage all directories and files on every volume
in the Directory tree.
User ADMIN does not have any special significance like the user
SUPERVISOR did in previous versions of NetWare. It is merely the first
User object created and, therefore, is granted rights to create and manage all
objects.
To use the network, every user must be assigned a User object in the
Directory tree. The User object represents the individual and keeps track of
the person’s use of the network.
