5. If a customized binary that IC server provisioning doesn’t already have is referenced, for IC server provisioning
7.2 that customized binary will need to be stored on the media server. Within the script file, the path to that
customized binary will need to reflect the location on the media server. The OSBP that will contain the
modified script will need to include the Set Media Source script that makes the connection to the media server.
You may edit the scripts either
using the RDP Deployment Server console and then
o export the script to a text file.
o copy and paste the text into the IC server provisioning
using IC server provisioning after copying the text to a Script.
Shell scripts on eXpress share
Refer to the “Run Script” Tasks section above for what code lines to look for when updating the script to work with IC
server provisioning.
These shell scripts are located on the eXpress share. Follow the suggestions with the Hardware Configuration and OS
Answer Files section as to how to edit the scripts.
Automated Procedure
The RDP Migration Utility will export and modify, with comments and IC server provisioning syntax, all “Run Script” and
“Install Software Package” tasks into a text-based file called %ALTIRIS_EXPRESS_SHARE%\Embedded
Scripts\embeddedscripts.txt where %ALTIRIS_EXPRESS_SHARE% is the RDP eXpress share directory
location.
The utility will also search through %ALTIRIS_EXPRESS_SHARE% for script files. If found, then will copy the files to
the rdpmigration temporary location and modify each file with comments and IC server provisioning syntax, and call the
file by its original name appended with “_rmu”.
To locate, export, and convert the “Run Script” tasks or the Shell script files to the rdpmigration temporary location,
from the RDP server and rdpmigration folder run rmu.exe /jobfiles.
OS Distribution Files
For IC server provisioning, the media server is separate from the virtual appliance, and is a Windows-hosted share. To
copy the distribution files from the RDP Deployment Server eXpress share to the media server, you can either
Connect the RDP eXpress share from the media server and then during the media server setup using the IC
server provisioning MediaServer Setup Utility, use the RDP eXpress share drive and path in the Distribution
field.
Connect the RDP eXpress share from the media server and using File Explorer, copy the files from RDP eXpress
share drive and path to the correct media server path.
