Neoview Roles and User IDs
Your Neoview system is delivered with a set of preconfigured roles and user IDs with predefined
passwords.
CAUTION: For your system’s security, change these passwords as soon as you receive your
system, using the Neoview Command Interface (NCI).

Use these tools to manage your Neoview platform:
To...Use this tool...
• Browse the database: view objects and their properties
• Manage data sources and the Neoview Database Connectivity Service (NDCS)
• Display attributes, SQL space, and DDL information for database objects
HPDM
Add, configure, and manage ODBC client data sources. HP automatically installs
ODBC components on your Neoview platform. You must install the ODBC client
components on all client workstations that use ODBC data sources.

• Enter SQL statements interactively or from script files to:
— Change passwords
— Add/Alter/Delete Users and roles
— List users and roles
— Manage the Safeguard security policy
— Create and drop schemas and other database objects
• Pass an SQL statement to NCI from a Perl or Python command line or from
a Perl or Python program.
