Configuring Sybase software
This section explains different Sybase software configurations. Sybase software binaries must be
accessible from the INSTALL_HOME directory on all the nodes in a cluster that runs the package.
You can install and configure the SAP Sybase software in the following ways:
• Non-shared configuration
• Shared configuration
Non-shared configuration
The following are the steps to configure SAP Sybase software on a non-shared storage:
• Install the Sybase ASE/RS software on the local disks of all the package nodes in a cluster.
• Configure the Sybase ASE/RS instance on a single node.
• Replicate all the required configuration files on the other package nodes in a cluster.
• If any changes are made to the configuration file, copy the file to all the package nodes.
• Ensure that all the package nodes are synchronized.
NOTE: The following files must be copied across all the package nodes:
• Password files required by the Sybase toolkit
• Interface file created or edited by user after the configuration
• Run script for an instance - RUN_<<instance-name>>
