Non-Networked Printing
A standalone workstation can only print to a printer attached to one of its
ports. Print jobs are sent directly to the attached printer.
As shown in the following figure, a printer connected to a standalone
workstation allows print jobs from only that workstation to access the
printer.

Network Printing
In network printing, printers are often shared and several intervening steps
must take place: storage, intermediate processing, and transmission between
various processing locations. These steps can greatly affect the complexity
of the print job’s journey and the time taken before a print job arrives at the
printer.
NetWare uses a print queue, print server, and print driver to allow several
network workstations to print to a network printer. The print server takes
print jobs from the print queue and sends them to the printer as shown in the
following figure.
