configure global
The configure global command configures or updates global Mobile IPv4 information
Syntax
c[onfigure] g[lobal] [-ht hold_time] [-icmp icmp_code]
[-af aaa_fqdn] [-mf ma_fqdn] [-ap aaa_port]
Parameters
hold_time Time period for which Foreign Agent should retain Registration
Requests that have not received replies. The value is in seconds, and
can be a floating decimal value.
Acceptable Values: Any positive integer or floating point decimal
greater than or equal to 1.
mipconfig Default: None. If you do not specify a value, the mipd
daemon will use its own default value.
mipd Daemon Default: 5.0.
icmp_code Value used in the ICMP code field for the for the Mobile IPv4 Agent
Advertisements. (Agent Advertisements are an extended form of ICMP
router advertisements.
Acceptable Values: CT, 0, NCT, 16.
CT and 0 indicate that this Agent supports common IP traffic in
addition to Mobile IPv4 traffic. This may cause non-Mobile IPv4 clients
to attempt to use the information in the Mobile IPv4 Agent
Advertisements.
NOTE Some Mobile IPv4 Nodes do not operate properly with Agent
Advertisements that use ICMP code 0.
NCT and 16 indicate that this Agent supports Mobile IPv4 traffic but
not common IP traffic. Only Mobile IPv4 clients should use the
information in the Mobile IPv4 Agent Advertisements.
mipconfig Default: None. If you do not specify a value, the mipd
daemon will use its own default value.
mipd Daemon Default: NCT (16)
aaa_fqdn Fully-Qualified Domain Name of the AAA server (AAAH or AAAF) for
this Agent. This entry is required for Home or Foreign Agents with
AAA Mobile Node clients. The mipd daemon will attempt to open a
TCP connection to the AAA server approximately every second until it
succeeds
Acceptable Values: A Fully-Qualified Domain Name that can be
resolved on the local host using gethostbyname().
mipconfig Default: None.
mipd Daemon Default: None.
