In the StorageEssentials.conf file, specify the LaunchURL parameter in the format shown as
follows:

LaunchURL= Storage-Essentials-URL
In Storage-Essentials-URL, specify the URL used to start Storage Essentials. For details about this
URL, see the Storage Essentials documentation.
For example, if the name of the Storage Essentials management server is machinename, configure
the StorageEssentials.conf as follows:
For Secure Connections:
LaunchURL=https://machinename
For Nonsecure Connections:
LaunchURL=http://machinename

Suite Product from HP SIM
Linking HP SIM and Device Manager enables you to use XP Command View AE Suite from HP SIM
without having to log in again.
You can start web client of Device Manager from HP SIM. Once you have started web client of
Device Manager, you can start other XP Command View AE Suite products from the Dashboard
menu.
9-3-1 Setting the environment
To set up the environment to enable Device Manager to be launched from HP SIM:
1. Set up the SSL of HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service.
2. Import the HP SIM certificate.
3. Register the URL for starting Device Manager in HP SIM.
4. Add users to HP SIM who are to use Device Manager.
Each step of this procedure is explained below.
To set up the environment:
1. Enable the SSL settings of HBase Storage Mgmt Web Service.
If the SSL settings are already enabled, you need not perform this step.
2. Change the URL information for starting Device Manager to support SSL communication.
Change the port number in the URL to the port number that was set in step 1. For details on
how to change the port number, see subsection
5-5-2 .
3. Execute the HP SIM certificate management command to import the HP SIM certificate to the
Common Component.
Execute the HP SIM certificate management command as a user who has Administrator
permissions or as a root user.
