Components
A component in a data object name is indicated by a colon (:). The colon is the
separator between a data object and the group or category type of which it is a
component (or the card name in which it is contained).
For example, Record is a component of the OrderFile data object. The object
name for Record is Record:OrderFile.
The name of the Quantity component in the input card shown below is
Quantity:Record:OrderFile.
When you see a colon, you can substitute the word โ€œofโ€. You could read the data
object name for Quantity as โ€œthe Quantity of Record of OrderFileโ€. The card
name always appears last in each object name to distinguish card objects.
