1. Specify the Logical Server identity.
a. Enter a logical server name and description.
HP recommends using a suffix of _ls or -ls for the logical server name. Never use a
logical server name that is currently or will be the same as a hostname.
b. Set the Portability Group to a group with hypervisor like ESX as class type.
c. Select the Logical Server Architecture “HP ProLiant.
d. Select an OS as appropriate.
e. Select an OS Variation
f. Enter a VM name. HP recommends constructing a meaningful convention in this field.
When it is not entered, the logical server management tool automatically creates one
based on the logical server name.
g. Enter ESX VM version (optional).
h. Click Next.
2. Specify compute resources for this logical server. This information will be used to create the
virtual machine (customizing values in the template)
3. Specify the storage configuration for this logical server.
