Installing the EDB PPAS toolkit
You must install the toolkit RPM on all the package nodes to run the EDB PPAS toolkit package.
To install the EDB PPAS toolkit, run the following command:
# rpm -ivh serviceguard-ppas-toolkit-A.12.00.00-00.<<distro>>.noarch.rpm
The EDB PPAS toolkit files are installed in the following directories:
$SGROOT/ppastoolkit
$SGCONF/modules/tkit/ppas
Here, SGCONF and SGROOT are environment variables.
To verify the installation of the EDB PPAS toolkit, run the following command:
# rpm -qa | grep serviceguard-ppas-toolkit
The command displays the following output:
serviceguard-ppas-toolkit-A.12.00.00-00
Table 1 (page 8) lists the files that are installed.

Upgrading the EDB PPAS toolkit
IMPORTANT: The cmupgrade command is a new tool introduced in HP Serviceguard for Linux
A.12.00.00 which helps you upgrade HP Serviceguard and its components such as Serviceguard
Manager, Toolkits, Extended Distance Cluster, etc. This command can be used to perform online
or offline upgrade of HP Serviceguard across major versions starting from A.11.20.00 and later.
It is recommended to use this command to upgrade the EDB PPAS toolkit. For more information on
this command see Managing HP Serviceguard A.12.00.00 for Linux at http://www.hp.com/go/
linux-serviceguard-docs.
To follow the usual method to upgrade the EDB PPAS toolkit from the previous version to A.12.00.00
, run the following command:
# rpm -Uvh --nopostun
serviceguard-ppas-toolkit-A.12.00.00-00.<<distro>>.noarch.rpm
Rolling Upgrade
The toolkit package nodes in a cluster can be upgraded with the new toolkit, on one node at a
time. Follow the instructions below to do so:
