7. Serviceguard for Linux Contributed Toolkit Suite
The optional Serviceguard for Linux package included in these instructions requires the Serviceguard
for Linux Apache Toolkit, which is part of the HP Serviceguard for Linux Free Toolkit Suite, available at
no charge from HP.
To download this package:
1. Go to
http://www.hp.com/go/softwaredepot/ha.
2. Search for “Serviceguard for Linux Contributed Toolkit Suite”.
3. Click “Receive for Free >>”.
4. SelectRed Hat Enterprise Linux 5, SG A.11.20.00” or “Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5, Serviceguard
A.11.20.00in the Software specification box.
5. Fill in required fields and agree to the terms.
6. Click the “Next” button.
7. On the “Software download confirmation” page, click “Download Directly >>”.
At the time of publication, the version of the toolkit available was A.04.02.01. The downloaded file
for this version is named sglxtools- A.04.02.01.product.redhat.tar.
OS Installation
The OS installation must be performed on each server.

Copy Downloaded Software to Servers
At this point, you must copy all downloaded software packages to each server.
1. Login to the server (from the console or an ssh client).
2. Create a directory on the server for the downloaded software, for example:
mkdir /tmp/sglx_install
3. From the location of the downloaded software, for example c:\sglx_install on your PC, copy
the files to each server, for example:
scp * root@adam:/tmp/sglx_install/.
4. Repeat on the other server.
Kernel Errata
It is recommended that the Red Hat Linux 5.7 or 6.2 kernel be updated to the latest kernel that has
been certified by Hewlett-Packard for use with Serviceguard for Linux.
These steps should be performed on both servers.
Instructions for updating the kernel if the rpms are downloaded from Red Hat as rpm packages are as
follows:
1. To get the version of the kernel currently installed on the system, execute the command
“uname –a”:
