Windows CMS checks
You can perform checks of the CMS configuration in two ways:
• Select Diagnose→Troubleshoot Matrix Operating Enviornment→Check CMS Configuration
from the menu.
• Enter vseassist -c on the command line.
The vseassist tool performs the following checks of the CMS configuration when invoked using the
Check CMS Configuration menu or the vseassist –c command:
• HP SIM running
• HP SIM memory configuration
• Matrix OE running
• Local host name resolution
• File system free space
• Java JRE installed
• HP Insight Control virtual machine management running
• HP Insight Control virtual machine management responsive
• Virtual Connect Enterprise Manager responsive
If Matrix infrastructure orchestration is installed on the CMS, the vseassist tool automatically invokes
an additional tool called ioassist to check the configuration of Matrix infrastructure orchestration.
Using ioassist, these additional checks are performed:
• Sysprep files for virtual software customization exist
• HP SIM running and responding
• VM hosts and physical servers available and visible to infrastructure orchestration
• Deployable software available and visible to infrastructure orchestration
• Deployment servers available and visible to infrastructure orchestration
• Virtual Infrastructure servers available and visible to infrastructure orchestration
• Database running and responding
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration Windows groups exist
• The Matrix infrastructure orchestration Administrators user is authorized for infrastructure
orchestration toolbox in HP SIM
• Networks available and visible to infrastructure orchestration
• Networks configured and ready for infrastructure orchestration usage
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration logical server management running and responding
• HP Operations Orchestration installed and configured for Matrix infrastructure orchestration
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration workflows imported into Operations Orchestration
• Insight Control virtual machine management running and responding
• Storage pools available for each existent VCDG
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration user pools exist and available as resources
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration user access to infrastructure orchestration user pools
• Matrix infrastructure orchestration templates available and published for infrastructure
orchestration users
