HP Matrix Operating Environment 7.3 Update 1 Installation and Configuration Guide for Provisioning with Virtual Resources

11 Configuring Matrix infrastructure orchestration
Preparation
Complete the following checklist before you configure Matrix infrastructure orchestration:
Matrix infrastructure orchestration relies on the Microsoft Sysprep tools to enable customization
of deployed Windows systems. Customization includes operations such as changing the
hostname, applying the Windows license key on first boot, and setting the IP address.
Have available the user names to use for the three roles supported by Matrix infrastructure
orchestration.
Each of the HP supported bursting destinations requires specific additional steps beyond those
described in this guide. For more information on how to complete the configuration for cloud
bursting, see the whitepapers Cloud bursting with HP CloudSystem Matrix infrastructure orchestration
or Cloud bursting with HP CloudSystem Matrix infrastructure orchestration and Savvis available
at Enterprise Information Library.
NOTE: Matrix infrastructure orchestration populates its inventory of VM hosts, virtual storage and
virtual networks from data gathered from hypervisor hosts that are registered with Insight Control
virtual machine management. To configure resources for virtual provisioning, it is necessary to first
install, configure, discover, and register with virtual machine management, at least one hypervisor
host.
