organization.
NOTE: If you create a new user who also needs access to the HP SIM Audit log, the system
administrator must give that user authorization to view the log using the HP SIM Users and
Authorizations tool.
Adding user accounts to groups
The final step in configuring authorizations is adding user accounts to the desired groups.
Create at least three Windows users and then add the user accounts to their respective HPIO
Windows groups according to the desired level of authorizations. The following are examples of
the user names for the different user groups.
MatrixAdmin for HPIO_Administrators
MatrixDesigner for HPIO_Architects
MatrixUser for HPIO_Users

A user who is not a member of one of those groups is not authorized to use Matrix infrastructure orchestration regardless

Users added to an organization.
Users added to HPIO Microsoft Windows groups do not need to be explicitly added to HP SIM.
They are automatically added to HP SIM when the user first logs in to HP SIM and are granted the
authorizations assigned to the groups to which they belong. Users belonging to multiple groups
in HP SIM receive the combined authorizations assigned to the groups in which they are members.
You may also add Active Directory domain users or groups to any of the HPIO Windows groups
described above.
Checking and setting primary network of the CMS
When you have multiple networks configured on the CMS, you need to ensure that the management
network is set as the primary IP for the CMS. To check this:
1. Navigate to the HP SIM System page for the CMS by selecting OptionsView CMS System
page.
2. Validate the CMS IP address, preferred name, and network name to ensure they are correct.
3. Select the Tools & Links tab
4. Under the HP Systems Insight Manager Pages section, click Edit System Properties
5. Verify that the Primary IP matches that of the management network previously set in the
advanced networking settings. If not, change it to the IP of the management network.
6. Select the Prevent the Discovery process from changing this system name and the Prevent the
Discovery process from changing this system's primary IP address checkboxes.
