Issue
Matrix infrastructure orchestration Create Virtual Servers Request fails to complete successfully after
a CMS crash recovery. The virtual resources are not released upon CMS recovery.
Possible causes
A CMS crash occurred while vCenter was in the process of creating logical servers and virtual
machines, causing the Insight Control virtual machine management and Matrix OE logical server
management databases to get “out-of-synch”.
Suggested actions
1. Perform a logical server refresh. Tools→ Logical Servers→Refresh.
2. Manually delete the logical servers that were partially created before the CMS crash. Delete→
Delete Logical Server.
3. Manually delete the virtual machines from vCenter. See “Manually cleaning up Clean-me
logical servers (virtual)”.
4. Re-issue the create virtual servers request.

after a CMS crash recovery
Issue
Matrix infrastructure orchestration Deactivate Virtual Servers Request fails to complete successfully
after a CMS crash recovery. The targeted logical servers are placed in an “Inoperable” state and
fail to deactivate and delete.
Possible causes
A CMS crash may have occurred while vCenter is in the process of creating logical servers and
virtual machines, causing the Insight Control virtual machine management and Matrix OE logical
server management databases to get “out-of-sync”.
Suggested actions
1. Perform a logical server refresh. In Matrix OE visualization, Tools→ Logical Servers→Refresh.
2. Re-issue the deactivate virtual servers request.
