Envoy Application Programming Manual—427159-001
6-5
File-System Procedures
When you stop one of the multi devices (for example, $ZZWAN.#LINE 1), the other
multi device also stops. Similarly, if you stop one of the LINE objects (for example,
$LINE1), the other LINE object also stops.
If you issue an SCF STATUS SERVER command on the SWAN concentrator to see the
name of the line using a particular line, only the first DEVICE that was configured will
be shown. For example, after the commands shown in the examples above are executed,
you would see the following, as shown in Example 6-2
:
When you specify the DEDICATED modifier, BUFSIZE gets set to 1024 automatically.
The opposite is also true: when you specify BUFSIZE, the DEDICATED modifier gets
set to 1024 automatically.
When you specify POOLED, BUFSIZE gets set to 0 automatically. The opposite is also
true: when you specify BUFSIZE, POOLED gets set to 0 automatically.
File-System Procedures
The application process uses the following Guardian 90 file-system procedures to
interact with Envoy and to communicate with a remote station over a full-duplex line:
AWAITIO
Waits for completion of an outstanding nowait I/O operation.
CANCEL
Terminates an outstanding READ request.
CLOSE
Terminates access to a data-communications line.
DEVICEINFO
Returns the device type and configured record length for a line.
FILEINFO
Returns error information and characteristics about an open file.
Example 6-2. WAN Manager STATUS SERVER Command
